Terms of use

The rules for using Crossbench, who runs it, and how its content may be used.

1. Who runs Crossbench

Crossbench is based in the UK. You can contact us at [email protected].

2. What Crossbench is

Crossbench is a free, impartial study site for students taking Pearson Edexcel A level Politics, and for their teachers. It is free to use and you don’t need an account.

3. Independence from Pearson

Crossbench is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Pearson. Pearson and Edexcel are trade marks of Pearson Education Limited. The specification is paraphrased, with links to Pearson’s official documents. Always check the official specification and your teacher’s advice.

4. Using Crossbench

You may use Crossbench for your own study and, if you are a teacher, in your teaching. Please don’t copy large parts of it, republish it elsewhere, or use automated tools to download it in bulk.

5. Our content

The notes, examples, data presentations and graphics on Crossbench are copywritten unless stated otherwise. You may print or save pages for personal study and for use in class, as long as you credit Crossbench. For any other use, ask us at [email protected].

6. Other people’s material

Crossbench summarises and links to its sources rather than copying them, and short quotations are always attributed. Copyright in those sources belongs to their owners. Links to other websites are there so you can check facts and read further; we are not responsible for what those sites contain.

7. Accuracy

Every page is checked against its sources and approved before it appears, but politics changes quickly and mistakes can happen. Crossbench is a study aid. It is not legal, professional or political advice, and it cannot guarantee exam results. If you spot an error, please tell us: the Editorial policy explains how.

8. Changes to Crossbench and these terms

Crossbench is provided free and as it is. We may change, pause or remove any part of it. We may also update these terms; the date at the end shows the current version.

9. Liability

As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for any loss that comes from using Crossbench. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot legally be limited.

10. Which law applies

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes are dealt with by the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also be able to bring a claim in your local courts.

11. Contact and date
